Happy Weekend!

Welcome to DIY Friday! Every Friday for the next few months (or until I run out of ideas) will be dedicated to teaching you how to make something. It could be skincare, fashion, or even wedding related. If you’ve missed any of my previous DIY videos, check out the DIY Friday Collection.

The majority of the videos, blog post, and articles I’ve seen about oil cleansing involves combining a million things. So, I started looking for an easier way and this is what I came up with. I’m not saying it is a perfect method but it has worked well for me so far and costs pennies compared to traditional cleansers.

All you need is a microwave safe glass, water, extra virgin olive oil, and a small towel. See the video above for exact instructions. Stay tuned until the end for bloopers!

What DIY projects would you like to see? Let me know your requests in the comments or tag #RebeccaDIY on my Twitter or Instagram. If you’ve made one of my projects too, make sure to tag it. I’d love to see it!

I love high waisted shorts more then traditional shorts. I think they make my figure a little curvier (which I like) and they look fashionable with little effort.

You will need:

  1. High waisted shorts or jeans.
  2. Bleach
  3. A tub for the bleach
  4. Gloves to protect your hands
  5. Fabric glue (optional but recommended)

Watch the video below for a video tutorial on how-to get this look:

DIY Shag Rug

July 13, 2012

in DIY, Lifestyle

Last week I was browsing Pinterest and found this post on how to make a shag rug. Immediately I had to do it! So, I started gathering supplies.

Follow Me on Pinterest

You Will Need:

  1. A piece of fabric the size you want your rug to be.
  2. Lots of scrap fabric (I used two dresses, a romper, a skirt, and a bandana and had a good amount of left over)
  3. Scissors
  4. 7-10 hours for a small rug (I spread mine out over the week)

Instructions:

Watch the video below for a visual on how to make this rug. It’s hard for me to explain so I made sure to record the process.

Thank you for watching! Make sure to send me pictures of your rugs to my Facebook or Twitter if you decide to make your own rug.

Kindness is the best accessory,

For this week’s DIY Friday I decided to mix it up and make something yummy. See more recipes and DIY Friday projects here

Instructions:

1. Gather your ingredients: Milk (or a lactose-free substitute), sugar (or a sugar substitute), vanilla extract, a glass, blender, and ice.
2. Fill your glass 75% full with ice.
3. Add milk until it is just below the ice.
4. Add a very small amount of vanilla extract (the exact amount is your prefrence).
5. Cover the ingredients with a layer of sugar.
6. Blend until ice is finely chopped (think slushy or even finer consistency).
7. Enjoy/murder the bird that chirped throughout the whole video.

Let me know what you think after you’ve tried out this recipe! I’d love your feedback.
