Last week I shared a running video from Shay Carl. Today marks the start of his new #shaytember videos where he will be motivating us (and we will be motivating him in turn) to reach our goals. I’m really excited for this video series. Below is the video for Day 1!
I’m big on goal keeping. I always have New Year’s Resolutions (They have since changed as my life went in a different direction since that post), then monthly goals to help myself work towards the bigger goals, and then even further I have daily to-do lists to help towards my monthly goals. I’m goal crazy! They don’t always pan out but they always keep me motivated to do more. So even though I have 13 goals for this month already (I’m not exaggerating, that’s generally how many goals I have a month) I decided to add three more to follow along with #shaytember.
- Do five push ups a day. I actually had trouble doing 5, even with my knees down!
- Learn to make a new dinner or lunch dish. I’ve been eating very healthy lately but I need a little more variety so I want to learn something new.
- Cross-train with one more exercise a week. As you know, I’ve been running three days a week using the 5K Runner application. On days that I don’t run I walk my two dogs (it was one of my favorite things to do last month), however, I’d like to add in another exercise at least once a week for variety. It will most likely be riding my bike or swimming. It’s very important to do other exercises when you are running consistently so you don’t hurt your knees.
Here is a look at my goals for the month. I don’t want to go into them in detail but I wanted to show you how I organize them. If you are curious about my goal system, read this post.
What were your favorite links this week? What goals do you have for the month?

Good luck, I know you can achieve these goals! You have inspired me to make my own goals to improve myself too!
