I was watching Oprah’s Life Class and she said something that really struck me, “When you know better, you do better” (as told to her by Maya Angelou).
When I first started working from home I held a little too much ambition. After a month on that three videos (four if you count my vlogs) a week schedule, I’ve begun to wear myself out. I had started looking more tired in videos and even complained in some of them, something I can’t believe I did. I was getting sick more often, a few times feeling like I was losing my voice from all the filming as well.
But, when you know better you do better! Now I know what I can take. This is by no means an excuse but rather a lesson. In my excitement for graduating college (my ceremony is in two weeks) I think I took on too much. From now on I’m going to do only two videos a week (three with The Rebecca & Chris Show) and committing to blogging at least five days a week rather then saying I will always have a full week of posts. Often times I’m sure I will have more then five posts but I don’t want to promise too much.
Last month was such a blast, I loved being able to talk to you guys on camera more often, it just doesn’t agree with my body. I’m really excited now to do a little less yet still be able to do more… If that makes sense. For now I plan on doing videos on Monday and Friday, but there won’t always be a DIY Friday (sometimes the ideas aren’t always flowing).
What life lessons have you learned recently? It was hard for me to admit I needed a change.
