Reflecting on High School

in My Journal, Videos

Prom 2008 and senior pictures summer of 2007.

I was a very different person in high school! I went through so many phases (like a “goth phase” as my Mom would call it when I was a freshman). When I first started I was very obsessed with boys and wanted nothing to do with school. After I met Chris I started doing better in my classes but then I lost touch with my friends. I was also working most of high school at Bed Bath, and Beyond yet I barely saved any money. It took me quite a long time to get my act together. By the time I switched schools my senior year I was making plans to move in with Chris, taking high school classes, college classes through dual enrollment, and working an after school job all at once. It was a very interesting time for me, I had no clue what direction my life wanted to go.

Thankfully I was able to figure out that “life stuff” in college, but I’ll talk more about that in my video about my college experience in two weeks.

Below is a video where I talked about my high school experience and all the mistakes I made. I include some tips for those of my younger subscribers that are still in high school.

What tips do you have for high school students? Are you very different from when you were in high school?
