After my Just {Someday} Married: Wedding Update #1 post I got a lot more comment feedback then I normally do. That made me so happy! I really appreciate that you enjoy learning more about Chris and I’s personal life and as such I plan on sharing a lot more with you guys. Although this is predominately a beauty and lifestyle blog, I have the most fun and get the most feedback on posts about my life. I really appreciate that!
So here is another update on the wedding. Nothing has changed since my last post, we still can’t get into the particulars since we don’t have a place of our own yet, but I realized I didn’t share anything about our wedding rings!
My engagement ring is the same one my Dad gave to my Mom. Some people say that it is bad luck to use a ring from a divorced couple but honestly, I’ve never been a believer in luck. When bad things happen to people and they blame it on luck, I get annoyed. Is that just me?
As for my wedding ring, we are again keeping it in the family. We will be using my Abuela’s wedding ring, who sadly passed while I was in high school. My grandparents were wonderful together, so no “bad luck” there! My grandmother had some pretty expensive tastes (she never wore makeup that wasn’t Chanel or YSL) so the ring she passed on to me is made of platinum. My Mom is keeping it safe for me so I’ll try and get a snap shot for a future update. I also have my Mom’s wedding ring that Chris and I will save for our future daughter.
If I didn’t have my family rings, I would definitely purchase a vintage or vintage inspired ring like these from 77 Diamonds. I feel like they are much more stylized and have so much character. I like to imagine that rings are like people and absorb the love around them so I’ve always felt connected to family and vintage rings.
If you love ring window-shopping as much as I do, I have a section on my Pinterest just for sparkly things!
Thank you for reading our second wedding update! Make sure to catch the first one if you missed it.

Hi Angela! I am hispanic, I just sadly never learned spanish. One of the few things I was taught was to call my Grandmother Abuela =)

I just got engaged this summer, but I on days that I forget to wear my engagement ring and we happen to be at the mall, I will stop into some jewelry stores with my fiance to have a look. =) I’ve tried on many different styles, but I’m glad that I ended up with my Tacori HT251012X ring in the end.
You’re lucky that the rings in your family fit your finger well. My hands are slightly bigger than my mother’s and grandmothers, so I couldn’t just take their rings as is.

My Mother’s ring fit but my Abuela’s doesn’t. I’ll actually be going in soon to get it sized. It doesn’t even fit my thumb but it is so beautiful.

Great share! I wish I had a vintage ring passed to me, but luckily there are large selections of vintage inspired rings: http://www.brilliantearth.com/rings/vintage-wedding-rings-women/
