So…. I’m doing my best to not buy things but it seems like I’ve caught the “shoppers bug”. I can’t seem to not think about shopping since graduation…. I don’t think that sentence is grammatically correct but you understand what I mean.
Thus, I’ve decided to bribe myself. This will be effective, right? I’m looking at this like a goal.
If I finish my last mark. tinted moisturizer and Sheer Cover concealer, I’ll let myself buy the Dr. Jart Water Fuse BB Cream (I asked them via Twitter and and they are cruelty-free! Yay!). I’ve been wanting to try another BB Cream for a long time but most of them aren’t cruelty-free.
Makeup takes a long time to finish up. This one bribe will take two-three months, and that is a conservative guess.
My second bribe will be that if I finish three lip products, I’ll allow myself to buy one Tarte LipSurgence. I can’t decide what color to get though. Which one do you think? As you can tell, I favor light pinks and hot pinks. Have any of you tried them? I hope this doesn’t take too long to finish but it will probably also be two-three months.
My last bribe is a little more general. If I am “a good girl” (I have a specific number in my head) and keep my spending down until September then I’ll let myself subscribe to Umba Box.
Doesn’t it look great? A handmade subscription service! I am very intrigued. I need something to fill the void I will have in my heart when my Birchbox and My Glam subscriptions run out.
Have you ever bribed yourself? What did you bribe yourself with?

That box looks really good, I like that it ships to europe as well. But some of the items are not vegetarian so I don’t think i’d ever subscribe. However subscribing to a monthly box may leave to with a bunch of things that you may not need in the end, and might not count as living minimally. Perhaps you should reward yourself with something other then spending more money when trying to save, for example treating yourself to a day out in the park to fly a kite or a picnic. Or just taking the day off and spending it with your fiancee.

Good suggestions Nivika. I don’t always want to treat myself with more product but since I’m in this weird transition I feel it is necessary for now. Also, my Birchbox and My Glam subscriptions will soon be done so then I’ll be receiving a lot less product. For now I’m just making sure that I’m getting rid of more product then taking in.
