Chris and I got engaged in November of 2010.Â
That was a long time ago.Â
I’ve been asked a lot recently what our plans are for our wedding and I always give the same answer. Nothing yet! Chris and I are just finishing school (I’ll be graduating this summer and Chris will finish graduate school next year) so we want to first and foremost wait until that is done. Then after that, Chris will be looking for a job. After he gets a job, we’ll start house hunting (we currently live with his parents). Once we are settled into our beautiful home, then we’ll start planning.
That’s pretty much it. I wish we could say we knew a date or had a venue but we don’t. We don’t mind having a long engagement, we’ve been in love since I was a freshman in high school. We are already spending our life together, the title and pretty dress can wait a little while longer.
It would be pretty exciting to get married on our 10 year anniversary in 2015…. A sooner wedding then that would be preferable though!Â
On a related topic, I’ve been pinning ideas on Pinterest. Here is a little peak at my wedding board.Â
I do know a general idea of the kind of wedding I want to have though. Weather willing, I want to have my wedding outside. I want a more rustic/home made feel like in the first picture. I want my colors to be Tiffany blue or a salmon pink. For my “something old” I have a string of real antique pearls (I estimate they are over 70 years old) from a relative long passed and my “something blue” would be blue stained baby’s breath for my bouquet. Stamp-tree homemade wedding books are also a must have! They have a lot of pretty varities on Etsy.com.
I picked my dress long before our engagement (I think in 2009?). I want the Alfred Angelo Disney Bridal dress inspired by Snow White. I hope it is still available when we get married. I’m dead set on having a Disney inspired dress. Nothing will stop this!
One thing I’ve also been looking into is wedding gifts and wedding party gifts, customizable ones in particular. I think they add something special to weddings. I really like this hanging engraved ornament that I can use on our first Christmas tree.Â
Thank you for reading our we’re-doing-nothing update! Haha. I’ll keep you posted along the way if our situation changes.Â
Are any of you engaged or married? How was your wedding or how do you invision your wedding?

Seriously! It’s annoying, I want to get married. Thankfully my finances are looking up! I just got a paid internship starting this weekend. Can’t wait to tell you all about it!

Take my word for it – you’re making a *fantastic* choice by waiting until college and a house are under your belt, especially if you’re going to have a wedding! ♥ I did it backwards, and it has NOT been easy.

That must have been stressful! I wish this process would hurry the heck up though. I’m finishing school this week and I feel like my life is finally getting started. About time! Haha

I can imagine how you feel! We have booked our wedding but it’s not coming quick enough! We’re getting married April 2014, and even although all the planning and wedding dress shopping is super exciting, I just want to be married haha… Hope you guys can get something booked soon :)
