If you’ve been following my Learning to Live Minimally resolution, you know it hasn’t been an easy task. Basically, I’m on a strict no makeup/skincare/haircare buying ban until I finish up the majority of the products I already own.
I’ve recently started adding a new level to this task, selling or trading things I can’t possibly use or have stopped using entirely. This way I can get through my resolution faster without wasting products.
I started looking specifically at my makeup and purse collection. Frankly, there was a few things I didn’t really like and regretted buying from the get-go. There was also products I don’t think I could possibly use up before they expire (makeup expires). So, I started becoming involved in a few Facebook groups aimed at mark. girls that want to sell their overstock (things they bought to sell to customers but ended up with too much of) and gently used items they didn’t like, etc. You have to be a mark. rep to be in these groups but if you aren’t a rep, check out how you can join here.
In the past two or three weeks, I’ve sold all of my unused mark. makeup (I bought a bunch of things on sale and had a few gift with purchases stored up) and am in the process of trading some of my mark. purses with other girls that had purses I liked more.
It has not been easy getting rid of so much stuff but I know it is for my own good. I don’t want to be in this habit of hoarding things I don’t/won’t use.
On my OH EM GEE I WANT THIS list for possible trades with other mark. girls is the Rebecca Minkiff <3′s mark. collaboration and the Pick a Posey earrings. Must. Not. Buy. So. Tempting.
Technically my rule doesn’t apply to fashion but I don’t have too much room (if you’ve been in my room you know that is an understatement) so I’m trying to trade for items instead so then I won’t be adding more to my collection. I’ve cheated a few times this year with my fashion purchases but I’ve found myself much more into fashion this year! Not sure why.
