Kindness: Buy a Dress & Support Anti-Bullying

April 24, 2012

in DIY, Fashion, Kindness

No one should have to experience bullying. It is often said to young children that “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me” but as I’ve grown older I’ve come to realize that is far from the truth. Sometimes a bully can hurt you more then a stab to the heart.

I’m not a stranger to bullying. By putting videos of myself on the internet each week I’ve become a target for cyberbullying. I’m thankful that I have more positive comments then negative ones but that does not mean that I haven’t been hurt.

RebeccaKelsey.com sponsor, X Out (read more here and here) has come up with a great program to help support anti-bullying. X Out paired with a few talented DIY bloggers to support this cause. Each blogger designed their own dress inspired by X and is selling them on ebay. The proceeds of these dresses will go to the Pacer’s National Bullying Prevention Center. Some of these dressed really stand out! If you need to get a new dress for an upcoming event, I would recommend you start here

My favorite dress is this one by SydneStyle.com. I included a picture below. Aren’t the colors perfect for Spring?

What an awesome cause!! This is really great!! No one should be bullied! It is so terrible. I know first hand, and I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through anything like that!

People really don’t understand what they are doing to others, it’s a shame.
